About the position

As Vaporware's Marketing Lead, you will oversee and execute all marketing operations at Vaporware, from soup to nuts, developing successful marketing vision, strategy, and metrics. To be an excellent leader, you should be passionate and knowledgeable about your profession, and driven to improve. We are a small team of experts and an expansive marketing skillset with proven track record is a necessity in this position. The Marketing Lead balances a creative mindset with a practical one. Within 30 days, you'll start by

  • Learning a baseline of our company's vision, strategy, and capabilities.

  • learning our past marketing efforts and company perspectives.

  • working with the team to define marketing strategies and OKRs that are crucial to the overall objectives of Vaporware.

  • attending local events to integrate into the wider Triangle community.

  • performing market research to understand the market's needs and how Vaporware can differentiate our value propositions in our crowded market.

Within 60 days, you'll implement

  • a marketing plan and oversee its day to day implementation and activities.

  • thought-leadership and storytelling that will reach and build trust with our target clients.

  • PR campaigns and promotional materials across a variety of channels. Perform or outsource those activities as needed.

  • our professional networks in order to create new and maintain strategic partnerships

  • marketing tests and adjustments to refine the marketing plan and delivery metrics.

Within 90 days, you'll deliver

  • quality leads to our sales and product management team to turn into successful clients.

  • continued market research to stay on top of the latest changes and how best to reach our clients

  • scalable marketing efforts as tests prove valuable.

  • great hiring methodologies and proven candidates to scale the marketing team as we grow.

Some of your obvious background includes:

  • BS or BA in business administration, marketing, communication, or other relevant field

  • proven experience as a marketing leader; some similar positions considered

  • a strong understanding of data analysis methods and market research

  • application of marketing techniques and strategies across a variety of channels, both digital and non-digital

  • understanding of a variety of disciplines (Finance, IT, etc.)

  • proficiency with software tooling like Google Apps, CRMs, and others.

  • Incredible creative and analytical leadership

While less obvious, your background may include

  • work in high-touch consulting marketing

  • shipping B2B SaaS products

  • healthcare industry experience

  • work with a small startup team
